William Lian, MD, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist at West Texas Pain Institute in El Paso, Texas. Additionally, fellowship-trained in interventional pain management, Dr. Lian became a PM&R physician because he genuinely enjoys helping patients improve their function and quality of life.
Dr. Lian attended Texas A&M University, Commerce, for his undergraduate degree. He completed his medical degree and PM&R residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, he completed additional fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management at Desert Spine and Sports Physicians. Through his study, Dr. Lian was awarded the Kowalske Outstanding Medical Student in PM&R Award and the Highest UTSW PM&R Resident SAE Score Award.
Dr. Lian is an expert in evaluating and conservatively managing spinal, musculoskeletal, and neuropathic (nerve-related) diagnoses. He and the West Texas Pain Institute team are focused on finding the most appropriate, evidence-based, non-surgical treatment for each patient.
Dr. Lian enjoys working out, photography, and hiking with his wife, Sarah, when not treating patients.
